Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo

Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo is a historic estate with extensive park grounds in northern Moscow, encompassing old woodlands, several ponds, and a network of pathways throughout. The site includes preserved manor buildings, churches, and designed gardens that reflect different periods of development.

The Streshnev family acquired the property in the mid-17th century and forged strong ties with the Romanov ruling house through family marriages. These connections shaped how the estate developed and influenced its role in Moscow society for generations.

A natural spring near the Khimki River within the park produces drinking water, a rare feature for Moscow parks. This spring remains in use today and represents a surprisingly original element in an urban setting.
