The Akatovo burial mounds contain multiple earthen structures scattered across a forested area near the Gorenka River in the Moscow region.
Archaeological excavations conducted between 1961 and 1969 revealed 71 burial mounds containing remains of men, women, and children from the 12th and 13th centuries.
The burial ground represents early Slavic settlements in the Moscow River basin, with ceramic fragments and artifacts indicating community life patterns.
Visitors can access the burial mounds through the Kuchinsky Forest Park, where information boards provide details about the archaeological discoveries.
The site combines both archaeological value and natural protection status as part of the Pekhorka protected territory, registered under number 501640472060006.
