Bubleyka Tower

Bubleyka Tower is a stone fortification within the walls of Smolensk Kremlin with thick walls and defensive positions at multiple levels. The structure displays typical features of Russian military architecture with narrow openings for defense and solid foundations.

The tower was built during the construction of Smolensk fortress between 1595 and 1602 on orders from Tsar Boris Godunov to protect against western invasions. Its construction was part of a comprehensive defense strategy to secure the western borders of the Russian Empire.
