Bird Park, Zoological park in Kaluga region, Russia.
Bird Park is a zoological facility in the Kaluga region about 80 kilometers south of Moscow, where over 2000 birds, mammals, reptiles, and fish live in simulated environments. The enclosures mimic natural habitats and allow animals to behave in physiologically appropriate ways.
The park was established in 2005 when engineer Alexander Belyavsky and his wife Tatiana relocated their private animal collection from Moscow to the Kaluga region. Their initial collection expanded over the years into a substantial wildlife facility.
The park functions as a learning space where visitors observe the behaviors of domestic and exotic bird species in natural settings. School groups commonly use the grounds to understand the diversity of animal life.
The park is open daily with easy-to-walk grounds equipped with sufficient pathways and rest areas. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and allow several hours for exploration, depending on which areas they wish to see.
The grounds feature a stone garden with rock formations transported from distant Russian regions such as the Urals and Caucasus. This collection displays the geological variety of the country in an unexpected way.
