Karzinkin-Teleshov house

The Karzinkin-Teleshov house is a residential building on Stoleshnikov Lane featuring eclectic architecture with detailed ornamental decorations typical of late 18th-century Moscow design. The structure continues to serve residential purposes while holding protected status as a federal heritage site.

The building was constructed in the 1790s and passed through several owners before coming into the possession of the Karzinkin family in the late 1800s. Following the Russian Revolution, it was subdivided into communal apartments but retained its original architectural structure.

The house served as a gathering place for writers and artists who came to exchange ideas and discuss their work over many years. This creative circle shaped the building's character as a center of intellectual life in Moscow.

The house is located centrally in Basmanny District and can be viewed while walking through the historic lanes of the area. The facade is visible from the street, though the building remains a private residence.

Inside the building, descendants of former residents have preserved original furnishings and interior details dating from before the revolution. These personal objects tell the story of a family that lived within these walls across multiple generations.
