The Timenkov & Frolov Almshouse spans multiple buildings on Arsenalnaya Embankment and Komsomola Street, featuring architectural elements from different construction periods.
Between 1870 and 1878, architects K.K. Vergheim, N.F. Montandr, and A.X. Pel designed the initial structure, which underwent major extensions from 1905 to 1908.
The institution combined both residential care and educational facilities for orphaned children, reflecting the social welfare priorities of nineteenth-century Saint Petersburg.
