House of Specialists

The House of Specialists is a complex of three residential buildings on Lesnoy Prospect in the Vyborgsky District, constructed during the 1930s with post-constructivist design elements from the Soviet era. The buildings intersect with Kantemirovskaya Street and Pargolovskaya Street and display functional architecture typical of that period.

Built between 1934 and 1937, this complex was part of a Soviet government urban development program that provided improved housing for skilled professionals. The project reflected efforts to enhance living conditions for qualified workers in Leningrad at that time.

The complex was recognized as a regional cultural heritage site in 1999 and displays memorial plaques for scientists and cultural figures who lived there. These markers show how the place was connected to the city's intellectual life.

The complex sits at 61 Lesnoy Prospect in the Vyborgsky District and is easily reached via the surrounding streets. Visitors can view the external structures and memorial plaques while walking through the neighborhood.

The location housed prominent scientists such as radiophysicist Mikhail Bonch-Bruevich and nuclear physicist Igor Kurchatov, who made significant contributions to Soviet research. These scientific pioneers shaped the site's reputation as a home for top talent.
