Kashirin House Museum, Literary museum in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
The Kashirin House Museum exhibits personal belongings, photographs, and letters of writer Maxim Gorky in a preserved 18th-century merchant residence.
The museum opened on January 1, 1938, in the former house of Gorky's grandparents, where the author spent his childhood years during the 1870s.
The museum presents thematic tours about Russian merchant life, featuring reconstructed interiors with traditional furniture, orthodox icons, and household items.
Located at 21 Pochtovy Spusk, the museum operates Monday through Sunday from 9:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 17:00, except Wednesdays.
The museum grounds include restored utility buildings such as a carriage house, granary, and dyeing workshop, with an original cobblestone courtyard.
