Красна Нов, human settlement in Tver Oblast, Russia
Krasnaya Nov is a hamlet in Tver Oblast located within Burashevskoe rural settlement. The settlement comprises scattered wooden and brick houses surrounded by forests and farmland, with a small church and the former estate buildings still visible among the structures.
Originally called Domotikanovo in the 19th century, the village functioned as a small gentry estate. In 1886 the property was purchased and artist Valentin Serov was invited to reside here, where he painted extensively. The settlement received its current name Krasnaya Nov in the 1930s when it became the administrative center of a rural district.
The hamlet is accessed by road and is best explored on foot or by car. Visitors should allow time to walk through the settlement and explore the surrounding forest paths, and come prepared for rural conditions and variable weather.
The settlement holds a notable connection to painter Valentin Serov, who lived and worked here, with a memorial museum dedicated to his art and personal effects. This artistic legacy transforms the quiet hamlet into a living record of the region's cultural past.
