The monument, designed by S. Oleshnya and A. Dementyev, was inaugurated on September 1, 2012, as part of a national initiative to honor educational professionals.
The monument represents the central role of teachers in Russian society, featuring traditional Soviet school uniforms and educational symbolism.
Located in central Saratov, the 3-meter tall bronze monument weighs 2 tons and includes stairs representing different stages of education.
The monument emerged from a competition between eight creative groups, with Ilya Stavsky's design selected to represent the teaching profession.
