Park Riviera

Park Riviera is a planted green space in Sochi that displays subtropical trees and plants, including magnolias, eucalyptus, palms, oleanders, and citrus varieties. The grounds include playgrounds, sports areas, art galleries, vendor stalls, and amusement rides distributed across the property.

The park was established in 1898 as a retreat for Russian Tsars vacationing in Sochi. Over time, it evolved from a private leisure destination into a public recreational space for everyone.

The Green Theatre in the park hosts musical performances and concerts that draw visitors throughout the year. Today, the space serves as a meeting point where the community gathers to experience live entertainment.

The park is easily walkable with pathways connecting different sections throughout the grounds. Comfortable shoes and several hours are recommended to explore the various attractions and planted areas at a relaxed pace.

The Glade of Friendship was planted in 1960 with magnolia trees set by a cosmonaut to represent peaceful space exploration. This special corner preserves a moment of Cold War optimism when nations shared hopes about reaching the stars.
