Dolphinarium, Dolphinarium in Sochi, Russia
The Dolphinarium is an indoor marine entertainment center in Sochi featuring daily performances with dolphins and other species. The main arena includes a large pool system and provides seating for more than 1,000 guests arranged across multiple tiers.
The center opened for visitors in September 2012 and quickly became a major attraction on the Black Sea coast. Its opening coincided with the expansion of tourist infrastructure in Sochi ahead of the Olympic Games.
Shows feature bottlenose dolphins and beluga whales performing acrobatic leaps and synchronized movements while sea lions interact with trainers. The venue also serves as a space for educational programs that introduce visitors to marine mammal anatomy and behavior.
The center sits in the southern part of Sochi near the waterfront promenade, with ample parking available in the surrounding area. Performances typically last around one hour each, and arriving early helps secure seats in the lower tiers.
In addition to public shows, the center offers therapy sessions where children can swim and interact with the dolphins. The pool water is kept at a consistently warm temperature, ensuring comfort for both the animals and the visitors.
