The Ryazan Theological Seminary is an educational institution and museum in Ryazan with a distinctive building from 1816. Its spaces show characteristic Russian architecture and serve both theological teaching and exhibition of collections.
The seminary was founded in 1722 and is one of the oldest theological schools in Russia. Its existence over more than 300 years shows how religious education in the country developed.
The seminary houses collections of icons, old books, and documents that reflect Orthodox religious life across centuries. These objects show how religious teaching was lived and passed down in Russia.
The site is located in central Ryazan and is easily reached on foot or by public transport. Visitors should note that opening times vary by season and it is advisable to check in advance.
The building underwent renovations multiple times but retained its inner layout with classrooms and chapel. This spatial division still shows today how daily life for students and clergy took place there.
