The Church of the Transfiguration in Peski features a tent-dome bell tower and stands on Spasopeskovskaya Square near Old Arbat Street in Moscow.
Built in 1711 to replace a wooden structure, the church experienced damage during Napoleon's invasion of 1812 and underwent multiple restorations throughout its existence.
The structure gained recognition through its portrayal in Vasili Polenov's painting 'Moscow Courtyard' and maintains its status as a federal cultural heritage site.
