The P. Belousov Central Park of Culture and Recreation is a large recreational area in Tula with extensive woodland, three ponds, and zones for different activities. In 1893, sanitary inspector Petr Petrovich Belousov transformed a former dumping site into green space by covering the ground with soil and planting trees. From this remediation project, the location grew into a recreation center that has served the city for more than a century.
