Church of the Epiphany in Krasnoe-na-Volge

The Church of the Epiphany in Krasnoe-na-Volge is a stone building topped with a distinctive tent-shaped roof and features Orthodox design details combined with a bell tower built in the 17th century. The structure displays carefully arranged interior walls and vaults decorated with religious paintings and a restored iconostasis.

The church was built in 1592 on the Godunov estate near Kostroma with financial backing from Dmitry Godunov. It received a formal blessing from Job, Moscow's first Patriarch, marking an important moment in its establishment.

The church takes its name from the religious feast of the Epiphany and displays a restored iconostasis inside with traditional Orthodox paintings covering the walls and vaults. These religious artworks show what people valued in their spiritual practices and daily worship.
