The museum occupies several restored historical buildings within the former Golitsyn estate, featuring exhibits about aristocratic life and architectural elements from the 18th century.
Established in 1788 as part of the Vlakhernskoye-Kuzminki estate complex, the museum received official status in 2000 and maintains collections from the Stroganov and Golitsyn families.
The exhibition halls display traditional furniture, paintings, household items, and documents that illustrate the daily routines of Russian nobility during the imperial period.
The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with free admission every third week of the month and special rates for children under six years old.
Visitors can participate in historical games like croquet and lapta on the grounds, with 35 different traditional activities stored in a special wooden chest.
