Lesoparkovaya, Moscow Metro station
Lesoparkovaya is an underground metro station in the Severnoye Butovo district of southern Moscow, served by the Butovskaya line. It has a single central platform covered by a glass roof that allows daylight to reach down to track level.
The station opened in 2014 as part of an extension of the Butovskaya line built to serve the growing southern districts of Moscow. It was constructed using an open-cut method, with the glass roof added once the main structure was in place.
The station takes its name from the forest parks that surround the area. Mosaic panels on the platform walls show scenes from these nearby parks, making the connection to the natural landscape visible to anyone passing through.
The station has two exits, both underground, with one featuring a glass canopy over the stairs that gives a view of the surrounding area as you emerge. Lifts are available between the platform and street level for travelers who need them.
The glass roof was designed so that the platform receives natural light even on overcast days, which is very rare for Moscow metro stations. This detail sets it apart from most other stops on the network, where the underground environment is entirely artificial.
