Church of Elijah the Prophet in Vereya

The Church of Elijah the Prophet sits in the center of Vereya with five cupolas and traditional Russian Orthodox design elements. The layout follows classical Orthodox patterns with an altar area, nave, and narthex, while the exterior features brickwork details and decorative roof work.

The church was built in 1727 and marks a period of religious architectural growth in the Moscow region during the early 18th century. It has survived changes in religious practice and continues to function as an Orthodox house of worship.
