The Trinity Monastery contains multiple churches, chapels, and religious buildings surrounded by white stone walls with defensive towers dating from medieval times.
Founded in 1337 by Saint Sergius of Radonezh, the monastery withstood a 16-month siege by Polish-Lithuanian forces between 1608 and 1610.
The monastery holds a collection of ancient manuscripts and houses the Moscow Theological Academy, established in 1814 as Russia's oldest higher education institution.
Visitors can access the monastery daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with guided tours available in multiple languages at the information center.
The monastery's kitchen provides free meals to 400 pilgrims daily, continuing a centuries-old tradition of hospitality and charitable service.
