Al Zulfi governorate, Administrative division in Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia
Al Zulfi is an administrative region in Riyadh Province located roughly 260 kilometers northwest of Riyadh in central Saudi Arabia. The area is crossed by Roads 418 and 535, which connect to Highway 65 running between Riyadh and Buraidah.
The region has roots in the time of early Arab tribes, particularly the Banu Hanifa and Banu Tamym, who settled in this area. Over the centuries, it developed into an administrative center within the Saudi Arabian system.
The governorate maintains traditional Saudi administrative structures with appointed governors and deputy governors overseeing local administration and community affairs.
The region is easily accessible by car and offers direct access to long-distance routes connecting other cities. Visitors should plan their travel during the cooler months when desert conditions are more comfortable for exploring.
The area is known for its natural landscape with Samnan Valley, sand dunes, and woodland areas that travelers often overlook. The Al-Kasar rain lake also provides a surprising water feature in this otherwise dry region.
