Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport, International airport in Härryda Municipality, Sweden
Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport is a major commercial airport serving western Sweden with national and international routes. The terminal houses check-in counters, baggage claim areas, security checkpoints, and retail and dining zones under a single roof.
The airport opened in October 1977 to replace the former Torslanda facility. Since then it has grown into the second busiest airport in the country.
The terminal features Swedish design elements throughout its architecture, incorporating natural materials and minimalist principles characteristic of Nordic construction.
Shuttle buses connect the terminal to Gothenburg central station several times per hour and stop at other points across the city. The facility sits roughly twenty kilometers east of town along the road toward Borås.
The airport offers several thousand parking spots and includes dedicated bicycle routes leading directly into Gothenburg. This setup allows commuters and visitors to reach the terminal by bike as an environmentally friendly option.
