Marabouparken, Cultural park in Sundbyberg, Sweden.
Marabouparken is a recreational park in Sundbyberg featuring walking paths, open lawns, sculptures, and a pond with water lilies surrounded by rhododendrons and magnolia trees. The grounds also offer a restaurant, summer library, children's swimming pool, playground, and art gallery.
The park was designed between 1937 and 1955 by landscape architect Sven Hermelin as a recreational space for employees of the Marabou Chocolate factory. Director Henning Throne-Holst initiated this project as a gift for the company's workers.
The art hall hosts contemporary works by Swedish and international artists throughout the year in dedicated indoor spaces. The exhibitions showcase a range of modern and classical pieces that engage visitors with current artistic conversations.
The grounds are easily accessible on foot and welcoming for visitors of all ages. There are rest areas, a children's playground, and a restaurant for meals and refreshments.
The park received recognition from the Swedish Association of Parks in 2008 as the most beautiful in the country. This honor reflected its careful design and maintenance, which set it apart.
