Tingstäde träsk

Tingstäde träsk spans 4.68 square kilometers with a shoreline of 10.4 kilometers and shallow waters reaching a maximum depth of 1.7 meters.

In the 1120s, builders constructed a wooden platform called Bulverket in the middle of the lake, measuring 170 meters on each side.

The lake's name derives from an ancient meeting place, while serving as the location of Gotland's first regular flight operations in 1933.

The lake offers summer swimming opportunities with facilities including restrooms and a sandy beach area surrounded by forest suitable for camping.

Since 2015, fishing activities have ceased in the lake to protect its diverse ecosystem, which previously supported pike, perch, roach, and bream populations.
