Ålleberg

Ålleberg is a nature reserve in Västra Götaland that rises 335 meters above sea level with limestone formations and shale deposits beneath its slopes. The landscape supports different plant species across its protected terrain.

This area received protected status as part of Sweden's early conservation efforts that began with the creation of national parks in 1909. This initiative marked the start of systematic landscape preservation in the country.

Three marked trails lead across traditional grazing lands where animals maintain the open meadows from May to October. This living connection between pastoral practice and nature conservation shows how the two work together here.

Several parking areas serve different sections with spots near the rest area, the summit curve, and the Gliding Museum. The trails are clearly marked making it easy to find your way through the reserve.

The mountain contains natural springs and supports deciduous forests growing on nutrient-rich soil created by its distinct geological makeup. This natural soil diversity creates different habitats that visitors encounter as they walk through the reserve.
