Axelvolds gård, Manor house in Svalöv Municipality, Sweden

Axelvolds gård is a manor house built with red brick that features two wings extending from the main building in a neoclassical style. The property includes several agricultural buildings and farm complexes that reflect its long history as a working estate.

The manor was designed in the mid-1800s by architect Carl Georg Brunius, building on a property first documented in 1579. Earlier wings dating from the late 1700s show the property expanded over many decades.

The manor reflects how Swedish landowners adapted architectural tastes over generations, combining older wing sections with a later main structure that shows design preferences of the mid-1800s. Walking through the different parts of the building, you can observe these shifts in style and construction methods.

The property spreads across several farm complexes on an expansive site, so allow time to walk between the different buildings. The surroundings are rural and open, so wear appropriate clothing for outdoor conditions and watch the paths underfoot.

The property once had artificial lakes created by damming systems, though most were drained during farming changes in the 1800s. These water features were part of the landscape design, now mostly invisible in the terrain.
