Bellmansbysten, Bronze sculpture in Djurgården, Stockholm, Sweden
Bellmansbysten is a bronze bust of Swedish poet Carl Michael Bellman mounted on a tall granite pedestal in Djurgården. The sculpture displays fine facial details and features an engraved inscription with a lyre symbol on its base.
Sculptor Johan Niclas Byström created this bust based on Johan Tobias Sergel's 1787 medallion and Per Krafft's portrait of the poet. King Karl XIV Johan unveiled the work on 26 July 1829 before thousands of spectators, including Bellman's widow and son.

The sculpture stands in Djurgården, a public park with other monuments and green spaces throughout. You can view the artwork from different angles and examine the granite pedestal and its inscriptions up close.
Each year on 26 July, celebrations take place at the site commemorating the unveiling nearly 2 centuries ago. During Bellmansdagen, the location becomes a gathering point for poets, writers, and admirers of Bellman's literary works.
