Vintra

Vintra is a residential villa in Stockholm Municipality, designed by a noted architect and completed in 1903, featuring a central hall with a high arched ceiling lit by a north-facing skylight. The ground floor contains kitchen, dining room, and service areas, while the primary living spaces occupy the upper level.

Ferdinand Boberg constructed the building in 1903 between two existing 18th-century wings, incorporating elements from an earlier manor that had belonged to a Russian businessman. In the decades that followed, a subsequent owner renamed the property and removed substantial portions of Boberg's original design.

The residence housed the working spaces of both an architect and an artist who lived here together, each with their own dedicated rooms. This arrangement shows how creative couples of that era organized their professional and domestic lives side by side.

The building can be viewed from the outside and is located in a quiet, residential area that is easy to reach by bicycle or on foot. Best visited during daylight hours to appreciate the architectural details and the skylight system fully.

The building was later renamed and underwent significant modifications that removed much of the original designer's work from the structure. These alterations illustrate how a residence's character can shift dramatically based on changing tastes and ownership priorities.
