The venue was founded in 1989 through a partnership of seven organizations including the Royal Opera and the National Theatre of Sweden. This founding established an important dedicated space for contemporary dance in Stockholm.
The venue hosts performances by Swedish and international dance companies, giving audiences access to diverse forms of contemporary movement. Visitors experience a living scene where established and emerging artists present their work.
Plan your visit during the regular performance season when the program runs continuously. Check the current schedule and any venue changes in advance before heading to the location.
The venue offers specialized technical residencies for Swedish choreographers to develop and complete new works. These programs allow local artistic talent to create productions under professional conditions.
