Bankhus 90, Office building in Rissne, Sundbyberg Municipality, Sweden
Bankhus 90 is an office building in Rissne that features a distinctive facade with white ceramic tiles on the northwest side and vertical bands running along Ulvsundavägen. The structure contains approximately 93,000 square meters of office space with flexible workspaces that can be modified in size and function to meet different needs.
The building was constructed between 1989 and 1992 for Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken during Sweden's banking crisis of the early 1990s. Its completion marked a turning point in commercial architecture of that era, introducing innovations in the use of concrete elements in large-scale projects.
The structure received the Betongelementföreningens Architecture Prize in 1992 for its innovative use of concrete elements in commercial building design.
The building sits along Ulvsundavägen and is easily accessible by public transport, with the Ursvik Metro station nearby. The surrounding area with garden paths offers space for exploration and is well-marked for visitors.
The southeast facade features pavilions of varying heights with light beige tiles and stainless steel cladding that create a distinctive visual pattern. This architectural detail is often overlooked by visitors, yet it clearly sets this structure apart from other office complexes in the area.
