Kämpingebacken 13

Kämpingebacken 13 is a museum apartment in Tensta, Stockholm, that preserves the original layout and furnishings of a residence from 1969. The three-room dwelling covers about 85 square meters and remains furnished as it was then, with all the original elements of that period.

The apartment was created as part of the Million Program, a large-scale building project that constructed one million new homes between 1965 and 1975 to solve housing shortages. Tensta was one of the neighborhoods shaped by this ambitious initiative.

The apartment displays materials typical of the 1960s such as Marbodal kitchen cabinets, vinyl tiles, and oak flooring that show how Swedish households furnished their homes. The furnishings reflect the everyday taste and available products of that era.

The apartment is located on the second floor of a corridor building and is reached through the entrance at Narvavägen 13-17, with Karlaplan station nearby for public transit. It helps to research the area beforehand to find the correct building.

The apartment preserves two separate bathrooms, one with a bidet, which was considered particularly modern in the 1960s and displayed a level of comfort. This detail shows what conveniences residents of that time viewed as luxurious.
