Erik-Anders

Erik-Anders is a farmhouse within a UNESCO World Heritage site in Söderala and showcases the regional architecture of Hälsingland with its distinctive yellow-to-red exterior and elaborate roof design. The property comprises multiple buildings that together form a historical ensemble, each serving different agricultural and residential functions.

The farm was built between 1813 and 1827 by Erik Andersson and initially served as a single large dwelling reflecting his prosperity. In the early 1900s, older outbuildings were replaced with new stable and barn structures, adapting the property to evolving agricultural needs.

The rooms display hand-painted wall decorations created by local artists from the Rättvik school, reflecting the craftsmanship traditions of Hälsingland. These ornamental details reveal how wealthy farmers expressed their status and taste through their homes during the 1800s.

Visitors can tour the buildings and interiors while exploring the grounds, which blend historical spaces with modern facilities. Driving to the location is straightforward with parking available, and the site is situated in rural Hälsingland, with the warmer months offering the most comfortable visiting conditions.
