Lindhovs gård

Lindhovs gård is a manor house in Botkyrka Municipality featuring a single-story main building with a broken saddle roof, flanked by two wing structures on either side. The property includes several outbuildings and sits within a broader landscape shaped by historical and archaeological elements.

The estate dates to medieval times when it was known as the village of Väppla, home to four farming families around 1330. After 1697 it became the official residence of the district judge for Södertörn, a role it held for nearly two centuries.

The surrounding landscape holds ancient burial grounds and stone settings from the Bronze and Early Iron Ages, revealing how people used this land across millennia. These archaeological traces now exist alongside the daily life of the current residents.

The property now functions as a residential facility with nine apartments operated by Botkyrka Municipality's social psychiatry unit for specialized services. Keep in mind that the site is partially inhabited and not entirely open to the public as a heritage site.

The estate served as the official home of a district judge for nearly two centuries, giving it an important administrative role in the region. This long tenure as a judicial seat shaped the place's significance in local history.
