Malmsjö gård, Historic manor near Malmsjön lake, Botkyrka Municipality, Sweden.
Malmsjö gård is a manor house with a yellow facade and white accents located in Botkyrka Municipality on the shores of Malmsjön lake. The two-story building features a veranda with neoclassical elements and is topped with a tiled roof that overlooks the water.
The estate was first recorded in 1383 as Malma and received its current name Malmsjö in 1654 when the Rosenhielm family built the main structure. This early foundation makes it one of the oldest inhabited houses in the region.
The manor displays architectural features typical of Swedish landed estates from the late 19th century, with classical elements that reflect the building style of that era. The yellow exterior with white details is characteristic of manor houses found in this region during this period.
The grounds are easily accessible with various walking paths around the lake offering different levels of difficulty. The property can be visited throughout the year, with summer months providing the best conditions for outdoor exploration.
In the early 1900s, Oscar Bernadotte added two wide verandas to take advantage of the lake views. The larger one facing the water and a smaller one on the southern gable end still define the house's appearance today.
