Mannaminne, Open-air museum complex in Nordingrå, Sweden
Mannaminne is an open-air museum in Nordingrå featuring more than 50 buildings arranged across landscaped grounds near Häggviksfjärden. The collection includes artworks, machinery, trams, regional artifacts, and multiple themed exhibition spaces.
Artist Anders Åberg and his wife Barbro founded this site in 1980, beginning with their own work. Over time, they added farm machinery, vehicles, and local objects to build a wider collection.
The site displays Swedish heritage through accordion instruments, farming practices, and buildings representing different European regions. Visitors see how people once lived and worked through these craft and rural displays.
The site offers hotel rooms, cottages, and an on-site restaurant for visitor convenience. Visiting works year-round, though warmer months are better for exploring the outdoor grounds.
The grounds feature a Chinese pavilion standing out among the European buildings. This unexpected structure reflects the founders' far-ranging interests beyond regional borders.
