Nyponet, Student housing tower in Stockholm, Sweden
Nyponet is a 21-story residential building reaching about 60 meters tall, primarily housing small apartments with two to three rooms for student living. The structure includes shared facilities such as a laundry room on the second floor, bicycle storage, and storage spaces on several levels.
The building was constructed in 1957 as part of Stockholm's post-war student housing development. Major renovations in the 1980s and again in 2017 updated the infrastructure and improved living conditions for residents.
Located near major universities, the building has become a gathering place where students live together and form community connections. The residents shape the neighborhood through their daily routines and create a young, active living environment.
The building sits conveniently near public transit and walking distance from academic institutions, making daily student life practical and accessible. When visiting, keep in mind this is a private residential building and interior spaces are not open to the public.
Some apartments in the middle floors feature private balconies with views over the city, an uncommon feature for mid-century high-rise student housing. These outdoor spaces gave residents a valued spot to spend time overlooking the urban landscape.
