Saxholmen Castle, Medieval castle ruins on Saxholmen island, Kristinehamn, Sweden
The stone remnants of Saxholmen Castle stand on an elevated position of the island, overlooking the waters of the Swedish archipelago.
Dating from the 10th century, this stronghold served as a defensive structure until its destruction, when according to records, a fire consumed the castle.
