The building was constructed in 1927 as headquarters for Svensk-Engelska Mineralolje AB and later served as Svenska Shell's main office until the company relocated to Solna in 1975. This relocation marked a significant transition in the site's use within Stockholm.

The structure displays ornamental wrought iron railings and a distinctive Shell logo set above the second-floor windows that reflect 1920s design tastes. You can see these decorative elements today when walking past, as they remain integral to the building's appearance.
