Sven-Harry's Art Museum, Art museum in Vasaparken, Sweden
Sven-Harry's Art Museum is an art museum in Stockholm housed in a six-story brass-clad building. The structure contains gallery spaces, a restaurant, and a rooftop terrace that overlooks Stockholm's central areas.
The museum opened in 2011 based on an art collection that builder Sven-Harry Karlsson began assembling in the mid-1960s. His passion for collecting and commitment to sharing art with the public became the foundation for establishing this institution.
The galleries display works by contemporary Swedish artists alongside historical painters from different periods. Visitors experience the local art scene and how it has evolved through various artistic movements.
The museum is open from Tuesday through Sunday with extended hours on Thursdays. Visitors can move freely between the gallery spaces, restaurant, and rooftop area during their time here.
The top floor houses an exact recreation of a 1770s manor house from Lidingö island, complete with original furnishings and the owner's collected artworks. This space offers visitors an uncommon view into Karlsson's personal passion for collecting and historical living.
