Ursand

Ursand is a campground and bathing site on the shores of Lake Vänern, about three kilometers north of Vänersborg, featuring a sandy beach with large rocks along the waterline. It offers swimming areas, tent camping, and cabins ranging from basic to fully equipped.

The site started as a basic recreational area and developed into a modern resort under the leadership of Bert Karlsson, who expanded it with additional facilities. Growth transformed it from a simple camping spot into a broader leisure destination.

The site reflects Swedish outdoor traditions through designated barbecue areas and walking paths where visitors fish or spend time in nature. Such places are deeply embedded in local ways of spending leisure time.

The facility has toilets, playgrounds, a restaurant, and various overnight options, so you might want extra time to explore everything available. Visitors can rent canoes and bikes to explore the waterfront and surrounding areas at their own pace.

The cabins feature schlager music-themed designs, reflecting the resort's unusual connection to the Swedish music industry. Beyond traditional camping activities, the site also offers padel courts and adventure golf, providing entertainment options you would not typically expect at such a location.
