Vogel Ski Resort, Ski resort in Ukanc, Slovenia.
Vogel Ski Resort is a mountain ski area inside Triglav National Park in northwestern Slovenia, sitting on a plateau above Lake Bohinj. The resort is reached by gondola from the valley floor, and its runs face the Julian Alps on one side and the lake on the other.
The ski area opened in 1964, making it one of the first organized winter destinations inside Triglav National Park. Its early development shaped the way mountain tourism grew in this part of Slovenia.
The annual Vogel Cup Ski Race brings together professional skiers and spectators at the Viharnik Restaurant for competitions and celebrations.
The snow season generally runs from December through April, with the most reliable conditions in mid-winter. Since the area sits inside a national park, it is worth checking any specific rules before you arrive.
In summer, the gondola stays in service and carries hikers and cyclists up to the plateau, where the ski runs become mountain bike trails. This means the resort is open and active for most of the year, not only in winter.
