Nová doba Estate, Functionalist residential complex on Vajnorská Street, Bratislava, Slovakia
The Nová doba Estate features multiple residential blocks arranged in a semi-open configuration, creating a protected inner courtyard space separated from street noise.
Architects Fridrich Weinwurm and Ignác Vécsei designed this residential complex in 1932 to address social housing needs during Slovakia's interwar period.
The estate reflects the socialist minimum dwelling concept through its emphasis on efficient space utilization and essential living requirements for residents.
Each apartment within the complex includes modern amenities, central laundry facilities, and a layout that maximizes natural light and ventilation in all rooms.
The original row housing design was modified to create a continuous street line along Vajnorská Street, resulting in an innovative semi-enclosed block structure.
