Kamzík, Summit in the Koliba district of Bratislava, Slovakia
Gemsenberg is a summit in the Koliba district of Bratislava, Slovakia, surrounded by wooded slopes that form part of the Little Carpathians. From the top, you can look out over the rooftops of the city and the green hills around it.
Gemsenberg and the slopes around it have been used by Bratislava residents as a place to walk and spend time outdoors since the early 1900s. As the city grew, the paths were developed and the area became a regular part of city life.
The nearby Kamzík television tower, often associated with Gemsenberg, has a rotating restaurant where visitors can try Slovak dishes while looking out over the forests and city below. The area draws locals and day-trippers from the city, especially on weekends, when the trails fill with walkers and families.
Several marked trails lead up to the summit, with some starting from the nearby Železná studnička recreational area. Solid footwear is a good idea, as the forest paths can become slippery in wet weather or in winter.
A cable car links Kamzík to Železná studnička, making it possible to connect the two areas without walking back the same way. The ride above the tree canopy offers a different way to see the forest and makes the area easier to explore for visitors of all ages.
