Michael's Gate, Medieval city gate in Old Town, Bratislava, Slovakia.
Michael's Gate rises 51 meters with a copper onion-shaped dome and includes seven floors within its Renaissance and Baroque tower structure.
Built in the 14th century as part of Bratislava's fortification system, the gate gained its current Baroque appearance during renovations from 1753 to 1758.
The tower contains exhibits of historical weapons and features a statue of Saint Michael, created by Bratislava master craftsman Peter Eller.
Visitors can purchase entry tickets at the Red Crab Pharmacy located 20 meters from the gate, with standard admission priced at 6 euros.
A time capsule from 1758 rests in the statue's head, containing period currency, sacred relics, and documents from the 18th and 19th centuries.

How about a trip to Bratislava in Slovakia? We offer you a collection of the main monuments, museums, and historical sites of the capital of this country, which is less known than its neighbor, the Czech Republic. This includes its historical center, castles, and the most interesting cultural institutions.
Slovakia offers a variety of natural and cultural sites, from medieval castles to the peaks of the Tatra Mountains. The country features historic cities such as Bratislava and Košice, national parks with caves and waterfalls, and Gothic religious monuments. The castles of Spiš, Bojnice, and Orava illustrate the military and noble architecture of past centuries. The Slovak Paradise and Mala Fatra national parks present mountainous landscapes with distinctive rock formations. Traditions are preserved in museums such as the Liptov Museum, while contemporary art is exhibited at the Danubiana Meulensteen.
