The Manor of Betliar is a Late Baroque building with four corner towers and two stories. Inside you will find paintings, furniture, Egyptian objects, ancestral portraits, count apartments, and an English-style garden surrounding it.
The Andrássy family took over the estate in 1642 from King Ferdinand III and changed the original Renaissance fortress into a residential palace. This transformation shaped how the place looked for the following centuries.
The library in this residence was founded in the late 18th century and holds literary and scientific works collected by its residents. It shows how the family who lived here valued knowledge and learning.
Visitors can walk through all the rooms during opening hours and see the furnished spaces and collections. The large garden invites you to stroll around and can be enjoyed in any season.
The grounds hold a large park with an artificial waterfall that ranks among the highest of its kind in the region. This waterfall is a surprisingly modern feature that earlier owners added to shape the landscape.
