Wooden articular church of Leštiny
Wooden articular church of Leštiny, Lutheran church building in District of Dolný Kubín, Slovakia.
The wooden structure features traditional spruce construction with exterior wooden planks and an attached bell tower connected by a covered stairway.
The church was constructed between 1688 and 1689 under the supervision of de Jóba Zmeškala, the captain of guards at Orava Castle.
The interior contains decorative wall paintings and a Baroque altar, representing the artistic traditions of Lutheran religious architecture in Slovakia.
Visitors need to schedule appointments at least one day in advance by contacting +421 911 960 383 to arrange access to the church.
The church received UNESCO World Heritage status in 2008 as part of the Wooden Churches of the Slovak Carpathian Mountain Area collection.
