Bojnice Castle, Medieval château in Bojnice, Slovakia

The stone fortress stands on a travertine hill, featuring Gothic Revival architecture with round towers, steep roofs, and decorated windows throughout its structure.

The castle's origins trace back to 1113, documented in the Zobor Abbey records, when it began as a wooden fortress before its transformation into stone.

The castle museum displays original furniture collections, historical artifacts, and the 14th-century Bojnice Altar created by a Florentine master craftsman.

Visitors can purchase advance tickets online and explore the castle through two different guided tours that operate according to seasonal schedules.

A natural travertine cave measuring 22 meters in diameter extends beneath the castle structure, connecting to a 26-meter deep water well.
