Brzotín, Medieval castle ruins near Brzotín, Slovakia.
Brzotín is castle ruins located on a rocky slope near the village of Brzotín. The remains show stone walls and foundations that reveal the basic structure of a medieval fortified building.
The castle was granted in 1243 by King Bela IV to members of the Akosovce family in recognition of military service during the Tatar invasions. It was built as part of the region's defense system against outside threats.
The fortress served as a defensive stronghold that protected trade routes through the valley. You can still see how it was strategically positioned to control movement through the surrounding terrain.
