Nová hoľa

Nová hoľa is a mountain peak in the Greater Fatra range with an elevation of about 1,360 meters (4,460 feet). The summit spans across the Ružomberok and Banská Bystrica districts.

The mountain has served as a natural boundary between historical regions since medieval times, marking traditional territorial divisions. This role shaped the development of neighboring communities for centuries.

The slopes feature traditional Slovak mountain farming with seasonal grazing patterns that local shepherds maintain and that shape the landscape.

You can reach the summit via marked trails from Donovaly village or use the hybrid cableway that runs during summer months. The routes are accessible to hikers of different abilities and well-marked.

The mountain hosts Park Snow Donovaly ski resort on its southern slopes, which transforms into an adventure park during summer with various outdoor activities. This variety offers different recreational options throughout the year on a single peak.
