Observation tower Hradová, Television tower in northern Košice, Slovakia.
Observation tower Hradová is a steel and wood structure located in Košice reaching 21.51 meters in height. It features three observation terraces at different levels, each offering panoramic views of the Hornád Valley and surrounding mountains.
This structure replaced the wooden Rákoci Lookout Tower dating back to 1909 and was completed on December 22, 1987. The newer construction provided a more durable alternative to the original wooden building that once stood in this location.
The viewing platforms display embossed maps showing nearby mountain peaks, helping visitors connect with the surrounding regional landscape. This type of orientation helps people understand the geography they see around them.
The best time to visit is during clear weather when visibility extends farthest toward the mountains. Storms and fog can significantly limit views and should be considered when planning your visit.
The three separate viewing platforms are positioned at different heights and each offers a distinct perspective of the valley below. Visitors can choose which platform level provides their preferred vantage point.
